Established in 1947, our organization has been steadfastly dedicated to advancing women's empowerment and gender equality within our local community for an incredible 78 years.
In the post-World War II era, a group of visionary women recognized the pressing need to address the challenges and barriers faced by women in our society. Inspired by Zonta International's mission, these trailblazing individuals came together to create the Zonta Club of West Hidalgo County, forming a tight-knit community of passionate advocates who were determined to create lasting change.
Over the years, our club has grown and evolved, consistently adapting to the ever-changing needs and aspirations of women in our community. We have witnessed and actively contributed to the transformative milestones achieved in the fight for gender equality, elevating the voices of women and fostering opportunities for their personal and professional growth.
Through an array of initiatives and efforts, the Zonta Club of West Hidalgo County has become a beacon of hope and empowerment. Our club has been at the forefront of providing scholarships, mentorship programs, and leadership development opportunities to young women, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue their dreams and shatter glass ceilings.
Additionally, we have tirelessly worked to raise awareness and advocate for vital issues surrounding gender equality, such as combating domestic violence and supporting women's access to education.
